In 2022, the Rahman family organized a competition for youth (under 30 years of age) for furthering progressive values and underlying the importance of freedom of expression in Pakistan. This competition was organized under the umbrella of the Ahfaz ur Rahman award for courage and freedom of expression. This year entries from all over Pakistan were received. The entries were judged by an independent panel of three eminent journalists in the country, namely (in alphabetical order): Iqbal Khurshid (Geo), Narjis Malik (Jang Group) and Usman Jamaee (Express Group). All winners shall be awarded prize money. The first prize is being given to Mr Hussain Khalid for his beautiful, nostalgic audio visual entry on religious tolerance. Ms. Khansa Saeed has been judged to be the runner-up for her entry on societal problems, especially those facing women. The family of their own volition have also decided to give a special prize to Mr Habib Karim for writing on urgent matters facing the country. ٢٠٢٢ میں، رحمان فیملی نے ترقی پسند اقدار کو آگے بڑھانے اور پاکستان میں آزادی اظہار کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرنے کے لیے نوجوانوں (٣٠ سال سے کم عمر) کے لیے ایک مقابلے کا انعقاد کیا۔ یہ مقابلہ جرات اور آزادی اظہار کے لیے احفاظ الرحمان ایوارڈ کی چھتری تلے منعقد کیا گیا تھا۔ اس سال پاکستان بھر سے انٹریز موصول ہوئیں۔ انٹریز کا فیصلہ ملک کے تین نامور صحافیوں کے ایک آزاد پینل نے کیا: (حروف تہجی کی ترتیب میں): اقبال خورشید (جیو)، نرجس ملک (جنگ گروپ) اور عثمان جامعی (ایکسپریس گروپ)۔ تمام جیتنے والوں کو نقد انعام ملے گا۔ پہلا انعام محترم حسین خالد کو مذہبی رواداری کے موضوع پر ان کی خوبصورت، پرانی یادوں کو تازہ کرتی آڈیو ویژول انٹری کے لیے دیا جا رہا ہے۔ محترمہ خنساء سعید کو سماجی مسائل، خاص طور پر خواتین کو درپیش مسائل پر ان کی انٹری کے لیے رنر اپ قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ اپنی مرضی سے اہل خانہ نے ملک کو درپیش ہنگامی حالات پر لکھنے پر جناب حبیب کریم کو خصوصی انعام دینے کا فیصلہ بھی کیا ہے۔

Second Prize was given to Ms. Khansa Saeed for her micro fiction entry highlighting societal problems, especially the plight of women.
Special Prize from the family was given to Mr Habib Kareem for his unflinching look at the urgent issues viz a viz political oppression in Pakistan.
